Austin MacDonald
Austin MacDonald began acting at the age of
eight, first starting with commercials. An ambitious young actor, he wasted no time making the jump into
the television and film industry and was cast as Auzzie in the new
Family Channel series DEBRA!, produced by Cookie Jar Productions. Austin
also plays Andy Jacobs in the TV series "Life With Boys" on YTV/Nick.
Austin has also had principal roles on the television series Living in
Your Car and Doodlebops and appeared in The Ron James Show, The Rick
Mercer Report, Little Mosque on the Prairie, and most recently in
Mudpit. Austin's feature credits include Kit Kittredge: An American
Girl, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer and the Roxy Hunter series of movies.
Most recently, Austin has worked with Dennis Lee on a project called
Jesus Henry Christ, alongside Michael Sheen and Toni Collette.In addition to acting, Austin is interested in current events and environmental issues and has begun devoting time to organizations that give back to the community. Austin is very involved with an initiative called "Blessings in a Backpack" which is dedicated to ensuring less fortunate children have enough to eat and are able to perform to the best of their ability with the benefit of proper nutrition.
Austin was a finalist in the 2005 emerging artist of the year award.
When he started in the business he booked 11 commercials in 6 months because of his spiky hair and freckles. He was known as the "little skater boy with spiky hair and deep blue eyes".
Was nominated for Emerging Artist of the year award 2007.
Has dual citizenship - Canadian and Austrian.
Austin has extensive martial arts training in several forms. Wushu, Karate, Krav Maga and XSD.Did some weapons training. Also trained on wires & choreography for stunt work.
